Recently, the Honors and Awards Committee of the Society for Information Display (SID) announced the winners in 2023. Dr. Cao Weiran of TCL CSOT Display Technology Innovation Center won the Peter Brody Prize, which recognized his contributions to the field of printed OLED and quantum dot electroluminescence (QLED) display.
Peter Brody Prize is an international renowned award set up by SID in memory of Dr T. Peter Brody. Dr. T. Peter Brody and Dr. Fang-Chen Luo developed the first Active Matrix TFT panel in 1974, which ushered in the era of flat panel display and had a great impact on the progress of human science and technology. This award is intended to recognize young researchers under the age of 40 who have made breakthrough contributions in the field of active display technology. Only one researcher is selected globally each year to be awarded with this award.

Dr. Cao Weiran
Weiran Cao started his research on solution display technology from the doctor's stage, especially the engineering research on OLED and QLED display technology based on printing technology, in order to promote the industrial development of printing display technology. Dr. Cao Weiran and his team have developed a number of OLED display products based on printing technology, including the world's first 65-inch 8K printing OLED prototype, the world's first 17-inch rollable printing OLED prototype and 31-inch printing H-QLED prototype. The award of Peter Brody Prize is recognition of his work and contribution to printing OLED display technology.
