Enhance the lifespan of blue QD-EL material
Introduction:
IJP QD-EL technology will lead the display technology to further breakthroughs. Its inherent advantages, ultra-wide color gamut and ultra-high contrast will elevate viewers’ visual experience to a whole new level. Benefiting from the use of inorganic materials, IJP QD-EL has lower power consumption and higher reliability compared to any existing OLED technology. We truly believe this is a revolutionary technology, but there are still some challenges. Therefore, we sincerely invite experts, universities, and research organizations in QD-EL related fields to join our discussion. Whether you are developing independently or collaborating with TCL CSOT, we hope to solve the short lifespan issue of blue QD-EL materials together in the end.The award amount will be one million U.S. dollars which is sponsored by TCL CSOT.Blue Star Award will be given to a single recipient exclusively. It will be granted to the first individual or organization whose proposal submitted has been verified as successfully meeting the Award Criteria by TCL CSOT, regardless of its Participation Method.
01 About Us
TCL CSOT was established in 2009 and is an innovative technology enterprise specializing in the semiconductor display industry. IJP QD-EL is one of our key strategic directions for future display technology. So far, we have achieved significant breakthroughs. The efficiency and lifespan of red and green printed QD-EL devices, and the efficiency of blue printed QD-EL devices, basically meet the mass production requirements. In our labs, we have advanced and complete platforms for material synthesis and purification, spin-coated, and printed device fabrication. Additionally, we hold a comprehensive system for material and device characterizations. Finally, we welcome everyone to join us in promoting and accelerating the development of the display industry.

05 Award Criteria
As a technology-embedded company, CSOT would like to achieve further advancement in IJP QD-EL technology. Therefore, further IJP QD-EL technology breakthrough is desired, which is as follows:
① Performance of the IJP blue device @1000nits: CIE-y≤0.05, C.E.≥12cd/A, LT95 ≥350h;
② IJP blue devices can pass the 85℃/85%RH test;
③ Good repeatability of QD-EL devices, with IV curve deviation less than 10%;
④ Device fabrication process is feasible for mass production;
06 Participation Methods
Participation Methods I: Independent Development by Individuals or Organizations
① Individuals or organizations that choose to participate under Method I should submit development outcomes, including experimental data and working mechanism for preliminary screening by CSOT.
② After the pass of preliminary screening, the Proposals submitted by individuals or organizations will be further verified in the CSOT laboratory to ascertain whether the Award Criteria could be met.
Participation Methods II: Joint Development with CSOT Laboratory
① Individuals or organizations that choose to participate under Method II should submit the development bases, current achievements, and future development plans, for preliminary screening by CSOT.
② Individuals or organizations that pass the preliminary screening will enter into a joint development agreement with CSOT, which includes the details on the cooperation model, development milestones, resource requirements, and intellectual property rights.
③ The outcomes of the joint development will be verified in CSOT laboratory according to the milestones stipulated in the joint development agreement.

Therefore, CSOT would like to discuss the possibility of further cooperation and commercialization regarding relevant technology with all participants, regardless of the participation methods and verification outcomes.

Tax:
You are responsible for any costs and expenses associated with an award, including overhead or indirect costs. You will be required to complete administrative requirements to process any award. If you are unable to complete these requirements in a timely manner, CSOT reserves the right to rescind the award. Except where prohibited by law, you are responsible for all taxes (including income tax and value added tax) that may be imposed on you by your local tax authorities.
07 Legal Provisions about Blue Star Project
Intellectual Property:
We highly respect intellectual property rights and would not accept any proposal which infringes upon others’ intellectual property rights.
Representations and Warranties:
You represent and warrant that your participation in the Project is neither prohibited nor inconsistent with any applicable laws, regulations, prior rights or trade secret of any party, ethics rules or internal institutional rules;
In case the proposal is governed by export control regulation, you will obtain the proper license before submission;
In the event that your representations and warranties under this section are or become inaccurate, you must notify us immediately and any award you receive will be voidable.
Limitation of Liability:
EACH APPLICANT, ITS TEAM MEMBERS, THEIR AFFILIATED INSTITUTION HEREBY RELEASES CSOT FROM, AND WAIVES ANY AND ALL CLAIMS AGAINST CSOT FOR, ANY LOSSES, LIABILITY, AND DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, (INCLUDING FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, LOST PROFITS, COST OF COVER OR OTHER SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY OR RELIANCE DAMAGES) INCURRED OR SUSTAINED IN CONNECTION WITH OR RISING OUT OF (1) THE BLUE STAR PROJECT OR ANY TRAVEL OR ACTIVITY RELATED THERETO, (2) USE OF ANY PROPOSAL OR RIGHTS THEREIN, OR (3) ANY BREACH OF ANY AGREEMENT OR WARRANTY ASSOCIATED WITH THE BLUE STAR PROJECT, INCLUDING THESE RULES, HOWEVER CAUSED AND REGARDLESS OF THEORY OF LIABILITY.
Changes:
We may amend any of these rules at our sole discretion by posting the revised terms on this website. Your continued participation in the Blue Star Project after the effective date of the revised rules constitutes your acceptance of the rules.
Governing law and Dispute Resolution:
Except to the extent prohibited by the mandatory applicable law, the applicable law of the Blue Star Project and these rules shall be the law of the People’s Republic of China (excluding the laws of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macau Special Administrative Region, and Taiwan region) without giving effects to its conflict of laws principles.
Any disputes arising out of and in connection with this Project or rules shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of Chinese court where TCL China Star Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. is domiciled in.
Privacy:
You acknowledge and agree that we may collect, store, share, and otherwise use personally identifiable information provided during the Blue Star Project application process, including but not limited to, name, mailing address, phone number, and email address. All personally identifiable information collected, for the purpose of administering Blue Star Project and verifying applicant’s identities, addresses, and telephone numbers in the event a proposal is selected for the award, is subject to, and will be used in accordance with, our privacy policy. By participating in the Blue Star Project, you consent to the transfer of personal data to the People’s Republic of China for purposes of administering the Blue Star Project, conducting publicity about the Blue Star Project, and additional purposes that are consistent with goals relating to the Blue Star Project.
Legal Compliance:
The Blue Star Project would not be applicable where the law prohibits.
